Pre-Tax Limits Reduced from $230 to $125

Effective January 1, 2012, in order to comply with Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 132(f), the maximum pre-tax Commuter Benefits payroll deduction amount is reduced from $230/month to $125/month.

Employees who are currently enrolled in the City of New York Commuter Benefits Program do not have to change their Commuter Benefits payroll deduction amount or their current WageWorks order. Employees with deduction amounts of $125 per month or more will see an increase in their taxable earnings and a decrease in net pay. Employees with payroll deductions that are less than $125 per month are not affected by this change.

The pre-tax parking limit for the Park-N-Ride Plan will be increased from $230 per month to $240 per month.
